As a Seller, if the thought of having a bunch of strangers streaming in and out of your home scares you, you are not alone. There's a pandemic going on for goodness sake!
It can be difficult in normal circumstances to show your home; times aren't convenient, your home always has to be clean, you work from home...so how in the world can a Seller show their home
and still keep themselves, their family, and those around them safe in today's world? How do you prepare to leave at a moment's notice when you work from home?
The
current market actually helps as houses that are for sale are moving quickly. I'm seeing showings of homes being back to back for a few days, and then done as offers are being sent in and accepted.
What does this mean for you, the Seller? It means your best option is to book a weekend getaway, stay in a hotel for a week, suck it up and stay in your in-law's spare room for a few days. This way your home can be shown multiple times in a day for several days in a row, and you won't risk your health after people have gone through your home in addition to not having to stop what you're doing to get up and leave.
Remember to focus on the end goal. Yes, you're probably going to have to be away from the comfort of your home for a few days, but it's worth it.
Is selling your home one of your 2021 goals? If so, call me or reply to this email. I'd love to talk to you about all the ways we can prepare you and your home.
